Formulation Tips
It is added to cosmetic formulations at 1-8% w/w.
Propylene glycol acts as a solvent and hygroscopic agent. It is incorporated into the aqueous phase of cosmetic formulations, acts as a solvent for fragrances, pigments and water-soluble vitamins and it provides little maintenance of products in the form of emulsions. It is easily miscible with water and provide a clear solution even when they are highly diluted with water.
